Welcome to the community engagement website for the County of Lycoming’s Recreation, Parks, Open Space, and Greenways Master Plan.
We have partnered with Environmental Planning & Design, a Pennsylvania-based consulting firm, to create a Comprehensive Recreation, Parks, Open Space, and Greenways Master Plan. Informed by community engagement, local needs assessment, and industry best practices, the plan will guide our programs, investments, and services over the next 10+ years.
The planning process kicked off in Summer 2026 and is expected to be complete in Summer 2027. We encourage residents and visitors alike to stay tuned for participation opportunities and the release of the draft plan!
Recreation, Parks, Open Space, and Greenway Plan Updates
Lycoming County is updating its Comprehensive Recreation, Parks, Open Space, and Greenways Plan to shape the next decade of our community’s outdoor spaces. By combining community input with expert insight, this project creates a realistic and implementable roadmap for local leaders to improve public lands and turn community ideas into real-world recreational facilities while examining grant funding opportunities to help pay for these improvements.

Mission
To protect and enhance Lycoming County’s natural resources and open spaces while delivering high-quality, equitable park systems and recreational programs that strengthen community health, connection, and foster economic development.
